Elf Makeup Brushes

Hey ya all!

Sorry for not posting sooner, been busy taking pictures and trying to make sure I take 'em right. Haha!

So today I'm gonna give quite a LENGTHY review on the Elf brushes I bought on my haul when I was in the UK a couple months back.

The brushes I bought!
Elf is an American brand known for their affordable yet reasonably good quality products. Unfortunately, it is unavailable back here in Malaysia, so the nearest place we can get it shipped from is Singapore. Check out their Singapore website here: http://www.eyeslipsface.asia/ or go to their main website here: http://www.eyeslipsface.com/

All the brushes I bought from the Studio line cost £3.50 (approx. RM17.50) each and the brushes from the normal line cost £1.50 (approx. RM7.50) each and are all made of synthetic material
.
Am gonna break up my reviews according to the brushes to make it less messy. So keep reading for the reviews!

My First NOTD Post!

Hiya all,

I'm still super new to the blogging scene so bear with me. Just wanted to post up a Nail-Of-The-Day (NOTD) look that I did for fun a few days back.

Wanted it to be attention-grabbing yet not too in-your-face (you get what I mean?) so I came up with this:-

Painted it real messy but I normally don't immediately remove the excess polish on the side of my fingers. I let them dry and fall off by themselves (lazy method. haha!).

That's a picture of my left hand...

And that's a picture of my right hand.

These are the products I used:

Bright and colourful!

From left to right:
-Elianto Nail Polish in Orange Red
-Elianto Nail Polish in Lime Green
-Elianto Nail Polish in Yellow
-Barry M Instant Nail Effects in Black

The steps to create this look are very simple:
I applied two thin layers of nail polish, and added a different colour on my fourth finger as an accent (you can choose any fingernail you want to paint as an accent), and once dried, painted the top half of it with the black nail polish (Barry M).

Barry M Instant Nail Effects is actually a product similar to the famous OPI Shatter, except that it costs much cheaper. I will give a review on this product later on when I have time! =D It's not available here in Malaysia, though. I bought mine on a trip to the UK.

Elianto however is very affordable at only RM5 a bottle and available all over Malaysia, if I'm not mistaken.

So yep, hope you liked this NOTD!

Have you tried OPI's Shatter? What do you think of it?

Update: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Polish!

Hello dearies!

After having Blue Me Away on my fingers for a couple of days (for the full review of this product, click  here, I decided to remove it (was bored of the colour already. Hee!) and this is what happened:

Can you see it? My nails turned BLUE! Unfortunately, this nail polish badly stained my nails and fingers when I removed it. Till today, I still have the stains on the side skin of my fingers.

I don't think I'll consider buying this anymore. =(

Hello all!

Today I am gonna review Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Colour (whoa long name.. haha!) in Blue Me Away!

Review: Max Factor Earth Spirits Ultra Aqua Eyeshadow

Hey there!

Ever thought you'd never be able to pull off wearing turqoise/aqua eye shadow?

Well now you can with Max Factor's Earth Spirits Ultra Aqua Eyeshadow!

Picture taken under natural lighting
I received this product from Yuberactive for review purposes.

What do you think of the colour? Is it not pretty?! =D

Ultra Aqua is a very pretty shade of light turqoise with a shimmery golden undertone to it.

Picture taken under indoor lighting. Looks green-ish.
It has a very smooth and silky texture and does not have fall out, which is great!

Below are swatches of this eyeshadow on my hand.

Left: 15 strokes Right: 9 strokes
Left side of the picture is when the product was swatched with my dry finger.

Right side of the picture is when I swatched the product with a wet finger.

As you can see, the colour swatch on the right side applied with a wet finger appears more vibrant and true to the colour. I also used less colour for that!

Here's a picture of my eyes with the shadow applied all over the lid.

Eyeshadow applied without any base or eye primer

The colour is not very pigmented which I do not really like but it's suitable for those who like to be able to slowly build up the colour on their eyes.

The use of an eye primer or base is a must to ensure the shadow lasts long.

However, it does give the eyes a pop of colour and is definitely attention-grabbing! I tried it separately as an eyeliner and it works well too.

At only RM11.90, it's definitely affordable and worth purchasing, I should think.

Would I buy it? -YES!

Would you give aqua/turqoise eyeshadow a go?

Mandom Barrier Repair Facial Set

Can't get enough of Japanese Hyaluronic Acid skincare products? Neither can I! Which explains why I'm sharing with you dearies about Mandom's Barrier Repair Facial Set.

Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid (SHA) Skin Care Range

Hello dearies!

About two months back I randomly walked into a Guardian pharmacy to just browse and I chanced upon this:

Review: Soap & Glory Blueberry Thrill BIG Butter

Hey ya dearies!

Just felt like doing multiple posts today so am gonna review a couple of products. In this post, it will be Soap & Glory's Blueberry Thrill Big Butter from their Spa range.

The first time I spotted Soap & Glory's products was in a Boots pharmacy in Thailand. The products have very attractive retro packaging. We did not have it back here until recently but I had already bought this body butter. I bought this on sale in Boots Thailand for 300 Baht (approx. RM30), and decided to give it a try.

It comes in a 300ml blue tub and is a light purple in colour. Some people may find that it can be unhygienic and a breeding ground for germs because it's in a tub, although that doesn't bother me so I'm fine.

The first thing that hit me when I opened the tub was its smell. It's DELICIOUS!! A very sweet yet rich blueberry scent with hints of citrus notes such as lemon, and orange. I couldn't stop smelling it. Really makes a person want to eat it too! =D

It has a rich, thick texture and took me some time to properly rub and apply into my skin. After application, my skin felt soft and smooth. Plus, the smell lingered for almost the whole day, which I loved! At 300ml, the product can also last a couple of months!

However, I did not feel like it completely soaked into skin, it felt instead like a layer of film covering my skin. And it was sticky too. When I touched water, it would 'glide' ( I don't know if that's the right word to use) off my skin, making it slippery. Also, it was a bit difficult to get the proper amount of body butter I wanted out of the tub unless i used a spoon.

My siblings also complained that the smell was over-powering in a very sweet way and quite suffocating. So for you dearies who are not into extremely sweet scents, this body butter may turn you off.

And on a student budget, even at RM30, I find it slightly steep a price for a body butter.

List of ingredients:

Pros: Very sweet long-lasting scent, nice thick texture, skin felt smooth

Cons: Felt sticky after a while, doesn't completely soak into skin, can be a suffocating smell for some people

Would I repurchase? Unlikely.

You can find this product in Sephora Kuala Lumpur at approx. RM54. Interested? =D
