Project "Use Up Samples" Review | L'oreal EverRiche Nourishing & Taming Shampoo

Hello lovelies!

I thought I'd take a much-needed break from my books and write my first post in the 'Project "Use Up Samples" series!

Shampoo samples are always nice to receive (in fact, any samples are nice to receive) because I for one am particularly wary about purchasing shampoos. I have a very sensitive scalp which experiences itchiness, redness and dandruff if the shampoo is not suitable with my scalp. I think I received this in a magazine (I cannot remember), but when I saw it I was super excited to try it out because I had never tried this before.

This shampoo claims to have a "non sulphate cleansing system which is specifically designed for very dry and rebellious hair. The formula leaves hair feeling intensely nourished and protected from dryness and respects the hair fibre."

First thing that hit me when I opened this slim sachet was the scent- it is amazing! It smells like shea butter, honey and milk. A very comforting, soothing scent. I could not get enough of it. I managed to get three washes out of this sachet. This shampoo left my hair feeling amazingly soft and smooth, and my flyaways were tamed. It left my hair feeling so soft that I did not even have to use conditioner after!

Does it do what it claims? Darn right it does. However (and this is a major disappointment for me), it gave me dandruff and left me with an itchy scalp, which is a major turn off for me. I definitely have a sensitive scalp, so this may not cause dandruff for other people, but it was saddening for me to find a shampoo I really liked and have it give me dandruff.

I do not think I will purchase this, but only because it gave me dandruff. Otherwise, it ticked all the boxes in what I look for in a shampoo, and if you do not have a sensitive scalp, I highly recommend giving this shampoo a go if you are looking for one that smells great and gives a soft and smooth finish to the hair. It is that good.

Have you tried this shampoo or any of the L'Oreal EverRiche Range? Do you have any recommendations of shampoos for sensitive scalps? =D

xx Amanda

  2. Aveda scalp benefits and the new Invati range are excellent for scalp. I've never used a shampoo and had zero problems but this is it. It does cost a lot though.. but for non itchy scalp and beautiful hair which requires minimal product to look good, I personally thought it was worth the cost.

    1. Thanks for the recommendation christabel! I've never tried Aveda products before, and I know what you mean, most shampoos pose some sort of problem. This Aveda one sounds promising though! =D
