Review: Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in 700 Nude Delight

Hi dearies!

As of late I've been on a lipstick obsession, and been collecting lipsticks to add to my small-but-growing lipstick collection. I have always been searching for a nude lipstick, and in the store I swatched this and instantly thought 'this is such a lovely nude!'. I bought it without thinking whether it suited my skin tone- thankfully it does! =D

Product: Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in #700 Nude Delight
Price: RM21.90
Made in: England
Content: 4grams

Packaging: This lipstick comes in a bright purple packaging- very attractive but I can't say that it looks classy. It just looks cute and fun and would be a colourful addition to any makeup collection. I'm not so bothered about whether packaging looks cheap or expensive, as long as the product serves its purpose well, do I'm perfectly fine with how it looks. =) Oh, it's also very light and barely weighs anything in my hand- great for toting around!

Application/Texture/Consistency: This creme lipstick is a breeze to apply on my lips- it glides on easily and deposits colour evenly. The pigmentation is good- one swipe and already there is colour on my lips, so I don't have to keep gliding it back and forth on my lips to get colour. It does emphasise fine line on the lips, though, but I find this can be solved by applying a layer of lip balm on the lips prior to applying the lipstick. It also does sink slightly into the grooves/fine lines on the lips, but this doesn't bother me that much, so it's okay. The texture is quite light-feeling on the lips, and although it is not very moisturising, it's not exactly drying either, but IMO it does not make the lips look dry or dehydrated, so that's a good thing.

Colour: This lipstick is a true nude lipstick- a peachy-brown shade with the slightest hint of orange(I think). There is no glitter or shimmer particles in the product and it leaves a light sheen on the lips. I don't think this is a My-Lips-But-Better(MLBB) colour but because it has brown undertones to it, it does not make me look ill at all. It just gives me nice, natural nude-looking lips which I am liking.

Here's a swatch of how the colour looks like:-

Scent/Taste: This lipstick (as well as other lipsticks from this range) has a strong floral/citrus scent which not everyone may appreciate as it takes a while for the scent to fade. It irked me at first but I've gotten used to it now so it doesn't bother me anymore, but people sensitive to scents may or may not find this an annoyance. The lipstick also does have a slight waxy taste, but not too strong a taste that it bugs me( and I am especially particular about waxy tasting lip products).

Durability: This lipstick lasts about 2-3 hours before it completely fades away, but the colour does become less vibrant during these 2-3 hours. However, the colour may completely fade when eating or when a person is constantly drinking, so reapplication is needed then.

How I use it: I tend to do the same thing when applying my lipsticks regardless of what finish or texture it has, and that is to apply lip balm on my lips before applying the lipstick, so that it is not so drying and it glides easier on my lips. I apply a layer of lipstick using vertical strokes on my lips starting from the middle moving outwards, blot with tissue, and then apply another layer. If I am in the mood for some shine on my lips, I apply a layer of lip balm or lip gloss over it. =)

Price: At RM21.90, I think this lipstick is quite affordable and well worth the money for the quality of the product.

Here's a pic of how it looks like on my lips:-

Such a pretty nude, no? =D I'm liking it!

Would I repurchase this?- Yep, I would. I like how it looks on my lips and how it makes me looks as a whole. It would also go great with a dark eye look or if I want to go for a natural look.

Where can I purchase this?- This can be found at selected Watson's, Guardian Pharmacy, Parkson.

Do you like nude lipsticks? Which is your favourite? =D

xx Amanda
