Review: Soap & Glory The Breakfast Scrub

Hello dearies!

Body scrubs are an integral part of my weekly/bi-weekly shower routine to ensure that I maintain smooth, soft skin (I am quite particular about this hee!). I had never tried Soap & Glory body scrubs, but heard loads of good things about this one, so I purchased it as part of haul I did some time back. I've been using it for quite a while now so I thought I'd just write a review on it! =)

A Peek into My Life: Post-Exam Paper Pamper Session

Hiya dolls!

First things first, wishing all of you a very Happy New Year! I've been missing from my blog for a while, forgive me, I've been so busy! Been juggling my Christmas break by hanging out with family and studying for my first exam which was on 3rd of January 2014. It was really hard to study when all I wanted was to chill on the sofa and watch Christmas with a hot chocolate in hand, but I had to. My first exam ended on Friday, and I thought it went pretty badly. It left me feeling weary, down and moody. So I came home, stared into space for a bit and decided to pamper myself before moving on with life (which basically means prepping my tutorial work for the coming week- sad life, I know).

Beautee Haul: Soap & Glory April 2013

Hello dolls!

My post today was initially supposed to be my 'March Favourites 2013' but I just cannot for the life of me locate the picture on my laptop so I decided to do a very quick haul post instead. Posts on my blog will be scarce for a while because I am currently revising for my final year exams which are only two weeks away! Please bear with me- I will continue to post more after my exams are done. I have so many ideas for different types of posts too so stay tuned! =D

Anyway, I popped into Boots yesterday and passed by the Soap & Glory stand. Soap & Glory is currently having an offer where you can get a free 'Butter Yourself' body butter if you spend £10 or more on their body products (the offer excludes skincare and cosmetics). I hardly ever purchase Soap & Glory products because I find the price tag slightly hefty for a high street brand, but this offer piqued my interest and I ended up purchasing some goodies. Another Soap & Glory (S&G) offer that is currently going on in Boots is to 'Buy One and Get the 2nd at 1/2 Price' for skincare items, so again, due to my severe lack of self-restraint as of late, I picked up some things.

Hello loves!

So I've just finished a Japanese written exam and to destress, I thought I'd write a little post on a couple of things I've purchased and gathered recently.

Review: Soap & Glory Blueberry Thrill BIG Butter

Hey ya dearies!

Just felt like doing multiple posts today so am gonna review a couple of products. In this post, it will be Soap & Glory's Blueberry Thrill Big Butter from their Spa range.

The first time I spotted Soap & Glory's products was in a Boots pharmacy in Thailand. The products have very attractive retro packaging. We did not have it back here until recently but I had already bought this body butter. I bought this on sale in Boots Thailand for 300 Baht (approx. RM30), and decided to give it a try.

It comes in a 300ml blue tub and is a light purple in colour. Some people may find that it can be unhygienic and a breeding ground for germs because it's in a tub, although that doesn't bother me so I'm fine.

The first thing that hit me when I opened the tub was its smell. It's DELICIOUS!! A very sweet yet rich blueberry scent with hints of citrus notes such as lemon, and orange. I couldn't stop smelling it. Really makes a person want to eat it too! =D

It has a rich, thick texture and took me some time to properly rub and apply into my skin. After application, my skin felt soft and smooth. Plus, the smell lingered for almost the whole day, which I loved! At 300ml, the product can also last a couple of months!

However, I did not feel like it completely soaked into skin, it felt instead like a layer of film covering my skin. And it was sticky too. When I touched water, it would 'glide' ( I don't know if that's the right word to use) off my skin, making it slippery. Also, it was a bit difficult to get the proper amount of body butter I wanted out of the tub unless i used a spoon.

My siblings also complained that the smell was over-powering in a very sweet way and quite suffocating. So for you dearies who are not into extremely sweet scents, this body butter may turn you off.

And on a student budget, even at RM30, I find it slightly steep a price for a body butter.

List of ingredients:

Pros: Very sweet long-lasting scent, nice thick texture, skin felt smooth

Cons: Felt sticky after a while, doesn't completely soak into skin, can be a suffocating smell for some people

Would I repurchase? Unlikely.

You can find this product in Sephora Kuala Lumpur at approx. RM54. Interested? =D
