Review: Soap & Glory The Breakfast Scrub

Hello dearies!

Body scrubs are an integral part of my weekly/bi-weekly shower routine to ensure that I maintain smooth, soft skin (I am quite particular about this hee!). I had never tried Soap & Glory body scrubs, but heard loads of good things about this one, so I purchased it as part of haul I did some time back. I've been using it for quite a while now so I thought I'd just write a review on it! =)

Product: Soap & Glory The Breakfast Scrub (now under the 'Smoothie Star' range)
Price: £8 (approx. RM40)
Made in: United Kingdom
Content: 300ml/10.1 oz

What it claims: With organic cupuacu bio scrubs, bananas, almond and honey extracts...and a new maple fragrance!

Before I forget, this Breakfast Scrub has been repackaged as Soap & Glory's Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub, so if you're interested, look out for that packaging instead! Here's a picture of the new packaging:-

Anyhow, back to the current packaging and review! =D

Here's the list of ingredients:-

Scent: One word - amazing! It has a very sweet scent- a mixture of oats, brown sugar, banana and maple syrup. I sometimes just open the tub to get a whiff of its lovely scent- hehe! Breakfast scrub is an apt name for it I think, and if you love sweet scents, you're most likely to like this scent too!

Packaging: This body scrub comes contained in sturdy plastic tub which is clear at the bottom. The font and wording on the cover of the tub is typical Soap and Glory with its kitschy, fun style. I like the clear bottom because it helps me gauge how much product I have left. It's simple packaging, and the fact that it comes in a tub means that I can really have access to all the product and use it up completely. The only downside to it coming in a tub would be the fact that it is unhygienic, and especially in the shower, I have to try very hard to make sure my hands are dry before I scoop out product to make sure that no mould or whatnot grows in the product (I'm just paranoid).

Application/Texture/Consistency: The Breakfast Scrub has an interesting texture. It is grainy, yet mushy; it is not runny, but neither is it too thick. It is slightly sticky, but I do not have any problems with spreading it on my skin as it spreads easily. The grainy texture makes for a good scrub, but it may be slightly harsh for those sensitive to grainy textures on the skin. I find that diluting the product with a bit of water helps to really 'soften' (for lack of a better word) the grainy salt/sugar particles in the scrub and makes it easier to spread on the skin- it is less harsh too!

How I use it: After rinsing off my body gel/soap, I scoop about a plum-sized amount of the scrub and evenly rub it all over my body. I like to focus especially on my elbows and knees to get rid of the rougher dead skin cells there. Scrub gently for about a minute, and then I rinse it off. The after-effect is amazing- my skin feels luxuriously soft to the touch, and oh-so-smooth, that I can't help myself from stroking my skin, it's that smooth! The smoothness of my skin lasts for about one to three days- which I think is really good for a body scrub. I really like the effect this scrub gives to my skin, and it does not cause my skin any allergic reactions or irritation. Oh, and I normally use this once a week. =)

Would I repurchase?- Definitely yes! Despite the slightly hefty price for a body scrub by Malaysian standards, this really does do an awesome job at leaving my skin feeling soft, smooth, and scrubbed. A little goes a long way so this 300ml tub will last me quite a while. Also, I love love love the scent, so that is a huge draw for me. Overall, I can't recommend this scrub enough.

Where can I purchase this?- If you are in Malaysia, you can find this and other Soap and Glory products in Sephora, although I think this costs more than the approx. RM40  I mentioned above. If you live in the UK, you can easily find this in Boots instore or Boots online HERE.

Have you tried this Breakfast Scrub or any other Soap & Glory products? What are your favourites? =D
