Review: The Face Shop Lovely Me:ex Nails Nail Polish OR201 & RD 301 plus Mini Weekend Haul

Hello everyone!

So I mentioned in this post about the 3 The Face Shop nail polishes RM12 and how I bought them. Well, I'm gonna do a review on the colours that I purchased (Was so excited I couldn't wait, haha!)! But before that, just wanted to share a quick picture of my mini weekend haul.

From left to right:
- Etude House Any Oil 21
- The Face Shop Lovely Me:ex Nails RD301
- The Face Shop Lovely Me:ex Nails OR201
- The Face Shop Lovely Me:ex Nails 03 - Topcoat
- Winmax Enamel Diluent from Daiso

So yep! Those were just a couple items I purchased over the weekend, and reviews will definitely be coming soon!

So now... onto my nail polish review, hehe!

Left to right: Nail polish in OR201, RD301, and 03 - Topcoat

Although my pictures include all three of the nail polishes, I will only review the two coloured polishes today. =)

So first I'll give brief descriptions about both polishes, and then get onto the combined review. First up is...

Product: The Face Shop Lovely Me:ex Nails in OR201
Price: RM5.90
Made in: Korea
Content: 10ml

Colour: This shade is a rather unique shade IMO, it is like a creamy pastel orange, but it's not completely orange, kinda looks like it's mixed with a bit of yellow too. So yea, I like it for its unique colour!

Next up is...

Product: The Face Shop Lovely Me:ex Nails in RD301
Price: RM5.90
Made in: Korea
Content: 10ml

Colour: This polish is a chilli red colour which is very bright and loud, but it screams fun! It does look a bit creamy too and has slight orange undertones. I do not think it's a unique shade but it definitely is a very fun shade of red to add to any collection.

So now for the combined review!

Packaging: The polishes come in a simple glass bottle with a white cap. Simple packaging - I like. =)

Application/Texture/Consistency: The texture of these polishes are neither too thick or too runny, and application was a breeze! I must have been super excited or something but I really enjoyed applying these polishes, they were so easy to apply! Two coats gave a smooth, opaque finish. The long cap also helped give me better control over how I apply the polish. However, the brush is slightly too thin for my liking, so I found I needed more strokes to cover my nails. Also, RD301 applied without any streaking, but OR201 did streak and leave some bald spots here and there- but this is most likely due to the fact that it is a pastel, so just try to apply even layers and it should be ok. =)

Here's a picture of the brush (this is from RD301, but the brushes on all nail polishes from this range are the same):-

Durability: Both these polishes lasted on my nails for approx. 4 days without both a topcoat or a base coat before they started to chip. Pretty long-lasting. =D

Price: At RM5.90 per bottle (and even cheaper if bought during the promotion of 3 for RM12), it is pretty affordable for decent quality polish.

So here's some swatches!:-

Would I repurchase?- For the quality and price, I definitely would.

Where can I purchase these?- At all The Face Shop stores nationwide

So now I gotta run - gotta revise for my last paper (International Law)! Have a great week ahead! =D

    1. Thanks Mary Ann! It really is a very pretty yellow.. Maybe when you head to other stores it will be there? I also realize when I move around to different outlets in the city that each outlet tends to have different colours on stock so it depends? =) and you're welcome! Glad you liked the review! =D

  3. I had the OR201 once. I really liked the color, but I could never make it right for my nails. Felt too thick and the worst part was it was too long to dry. Haha I guess it was just me. I hate seeing my hands useless for minutes only to let the polish dry. I found that Skin Food Nail Vita suited me much better. So I tossed it up to my friend, lol....

    1. I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you. =S I tend to have pretty good experiences with The Face Shop nail polishes but have encountered a few gloopy thick ones like yourself. I guess it also depends on the bottle, maybe? =) glad to hear Skin Food's Nail Vita works for you! =D
