Review: Rimmel Extra Wow Lash Mascara

Hey ya all!

I haven't posted up a mascara review in a while, so am gonna do one today!

I love mascaras (own 5-6 of them at one go!) and this one today is one I'm growing to love! =D

Product: RIMMEL Extra WOW Lash Mascara in Extreme Black
Price: RM27.90 (approx. £5.60)
Made in: England
Content: 8ml

Packaging: On the first glance, the packaging did not really appeal to me. It comes in a simple black tube with grey-silver writing and the Union Jack in the background. After a while though, it does look kinda sleek. =D The thing that caught my attention most was the word 'WOW'. Haha! I must say though that it is slim, and easy to tote around in a handbag.

Application/Texture/Consistency: The consistency of this mascara is not too runny, so it doesn't take too long to dry and is NOT clumpy. The brush (which is slightly big) is straight without any curve, has straight short bristles and tapers at the end.

I found it quite difficult to use this brush the first time I tried this 'cause I couldn't seem to get my lashes in between it- so that annoyed me a lil. Hee! But I practiced and it's working fine for me now! =D

View of the brush from the top!

Side view of the brush!

Looks so straight, doesn't it?!

After getting used to the brush, I find that this mascara coats my lashes nicely and really lengthens, but only slightly volumises my lashes. The tapered end also helped me reach all the little lashes and coated them nicely too. Plus, it makes my lashes really black- which I like! =D I do not think that it makes my lashes look fuller though, but definitely more visible compared to not wearing mascara.

It is also very easy to remove- just wash it off with water! It's non-waterproof, but smudge-proof IMO.

Durability: I think this lasts quite long for a non-waterproof mascara; I wore this for approx. 8 hours and my lashes still looked long and volumised after! It did not smudge as well!

Price: At RM27.90, I think it is affordable- not too pricey for a student on a budget. =)

Others: I have sensitive eyes, and this mascara did not irritate it at all- even when I was wearing my contact lens. That's a plus point! The results are natural-looking lashes. I don't think this helps create dramatic lashes though. =S

Here are Before and After pics of my lashes:

See the difference? Long lashes! =D

Would I purchase this?- YES! It is affordable and the quality is pretty good for a mascara. I like how it also does not irritate my eyes!

Where can I find this?- This is available at leading pharmacies such as Watson's Personal Care Store, Guardian Pharmacy, and Parkson (Pavilion, 1 Utama, Sunway Pyramid, Sungei Wang, Klang Parade, Gurney Plaza, Terminal One Seremban, Square One Shopping Mall).

I also checked Boots' UK website for the fun of it and found that this mascara is going for £5.49. =D

NOTE: I did not purchase this mascara. This was given to me for review purposes by YUBERACTIVE.
