News: Freebies with April 2013 Glamour and Cosmopolitan UK Mags!

Hello dolls,

So I may or may not be a wee late in talking about this, but I've been browsing through the magazine stands lately and noticed that a few magazines are giving out freebies with their April issue of the respective magazines!

Here's the ones I bought.

Cosmopolitan's April Issue comes with Elemis Skincare freebies, and there are three to choose from:-

- Elemis Softly Softly Daily Moisturiser 25ml (worth £10; full sized 50ml costs £19.99)
- Elemis Skin Clear Mattifying Moisturiser 25ml (worth £10; full sized 50ml costs £19.99)
- Elemis Loving Lips Quenching Lip Balm 10ml (this is a full sized product worth £7.99)

I've always looked at Elemis products whenever I'm in Superdrug but have never bought anything from Elemis because the prices are a bit steep IMO. However, since the magazine was £3.60 and it came with an Elemis freebie (I would only consider buying Cosmopolitan magazine when there's a freebie thrown in, otherwise, it's a bit expensive for a magazine and I stick to more affordable ones like Glamour), I thought this would be a good chance for me to try their products out. I also had a coupon to get £2 off April's Cosmopolitan which I found from the free Cosmo on Campus magazine distributed around university, so I only ended up paying £1.60 for this magazine- all the more worth it! The product I chose among the three Elemis products is:-

I chose the Mattifying Moisturiser since the warmer months are coming up, and I thought it would be great if this could help reduce the amount of shine on my face.

Now onto Glamour magazine...

There are four Percy & Reed haircare products to choose from with April's issue of Glamour magazine, and again, this is a great way to try out Percy & Reed's products because these range of haircar products sit on the higher end of the price scale (which normally means it's out of my budget). Glamour mag this month costs £2, so with a freebie included, it really is quite a bargain. The products that you can choose from here are:-

- Percy & Reed Colour & Shine Shampoo 100ml (250ml bottle of this product costs £14)
- Percy & Reed Colour & Shine Conditioner 100ml (250ml bottle of this product costs £16)
- Percy & Reed Finishing Polish 100ml (full sized 125ml costs £10)
- Percy & Reed Volumising No Oil Oil for Fine Hair 30ml (worth £7; full sized 60ml costs £14)

Okay, so I went a bit crazy and bought two magazines with different freebies, and the ones I chose are the Volumising No Oil Oil for Fine Hair and the Finishing Polish. I do have fine hair, so the Volumising No Oil Oil really appealed to me. I have already tested it out once and I really like it! I may just have to pop out to go get another! Hee! =D I have not tried the Finishing Polish yet but it claims to smooth and tame unruly hair and frizz, so I'm rather keen on trying this too as I do have frizz and small curls which just jut out everywhere and look rather unkempt at times.

So those are the freebies included with magazines that I got this month. Another magazine which I did not purchase but which is also giving out a freebie is the Marie Claire April issue, which is giving out a free full sized (50ml) Neal's Yard Remedies Bee Lovely Hand Cream worth £10, so if that interests you, you can go have a look at it! Also, Good Housekeeping's April issue has a full sized Balance Me Super Moisturising Hand Cream (50ml) which retails for £10. I am very pleased with these freebies especially since I do tend to buy magazines on a monthly basis (especially Glamour), and added goodies never hurt! Also, if these interest you, do go get a copy for yourself quick since some places are sold out of these magazines already (especially Glamour - again)!

Have you purchased any of the magazines with freebies this month? Do you like the product included with the magazine? =D

xx Amanda

    1. Yea do check them out - they're pretty good bargains! =) According to what I read on the Perct & Reed website, the finishing polish helps to smooth, control and groom unruly hair and frizz. It also apparently helps to add definition and hold to the hair. I haven't tried it yet so I can't say if it works or not.=)
