Review: Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturising Lotion & Moisturising Cream

Hiya dearies!

How've you all been doing? I'm slightly more free this week- less tutorials, no assignments etc (thank God!) so was browsing through my posts and I realised I have not posted up my reviews on the complete range of the Hada Labo SHA set!

This is WAY overdue and I profusely and sincerely apologise for not posting it up earlier! I honestly thought I did. Hehe! Anyway, will post it up now so no worries! Although it will be a pretty long post so will break it into two for easier reading. =)

The first product I'm gonna write about in this post is...

Product: Hada Labo SHA Moisturising Lotion
Price: RM40.90
Made in: China
Content: 170ml

INGREDIENTS: Water, Butylene Glycol, Clycerin, PPG-10 Methyl Glucose Ether, Disodium Succinate, Methylparaben, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Succinic Acid, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate

What it claims: Significantly soft & supple skin, skin pH balanced, low irritation, and free of fragrances, mineral oil, colourant and alcohol

Packaging: The product comes in a simple plastic bottle with a white cap and japanese words written on it. Simple packaging- which I prefer so a plus point to that!

Application/Texture/Consistency: This lotion (which is what the Japanese call a facial toner) has a watery texture, which is slightly slimy to me. I don't really know how to explain it. It has a slightly slippery feel to the liquid, but not in a bad way. It is clear in colour. Applying it is really easy and it leaves skin feeling very soft, supple and not sticky or greasy at all. It has a tiny hole at the top that easily dispenses the liquid without me having ended up pouring too much.

Here's how the tiny dispensing hole looks like
Scent: I don't detect any scent; only something that smells fresh.

How I use it: After cleansing my face with cleanser and patting it dry, I just pour about 3-5 drops onto my palm and pat it into my skin in circular upward motions until the liquid has sunk into my skin. =D

Here's a picture to attempt to show you the liquid:-

Price: At RM40.90, it's slightly more than the usual price that I would pay for skincare, but I really like this product so I guess it is worth it.

Would I repurchase?- YES! I actually really like how it makes my skin feel soft and hydrated, plus it caused me no irritation or allergic reactions which is good for a person like me with sensitive skin. I also like the fact that it has no fragrance, so there's nothing that may annoy me. =D

So on to the next product review...

Product: Hada Labo SHA Moisturising Cream
Price:RM58.90
Made in: China
Content: 50g

What it claims: A light & non-greasy cream that infuses skin with continuous moisture, low irrtation and skin pH is balanced, and free of fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol and colourant.

List of ingredients:

Packaging: The moisturising cream comes in a simple white plastic tub with simple writing on it. I like how it's all white- gives off the feel of being pure. Haha!

Application/Texture/Consistency: Although it is called a moisturising cream, I don't think the texture is as heavy as cream. It borders on the texture of being a cream-gel. It's pretty light, actually. The cream is white in colour and applies and blends easily into the skin leaving it feeling supple and soft. However, I find it takes a while to sink into the skin and it leaves a sticky, slightly greasy feel.

Scent: It does not have scent, as far as I can tell. Oh, but it does smell a bit wheat-like to me. Not a bad smell at all though. Pretty comforting scent. =)

How I use it: After applying the moisturising lotion mentioned above, I take a pea-sized amount of this product and spread it all over my face in circular, upward motions until it has sunk in. I also apply a small amount to my neck to moisturise it.

Price: At RM58.90, I think it's pretty steep for a moisturiser (seeing how I use cheaper brands), but I guess it is pretty reasonable compared to other more pricey brands.

Would I repurchase?- Unfortunately, no I wouldn't, because although I like the fact that it makes my skin feel soft and there is no irritation and no fragrance, I find it a little too sticky for my liking. It takes quite a while to completely sink into my skin, and I don't like having to wait ages for it to do so and feel like I piled gunk onto my skin. But if you don't mind stickiness, then definitely give this moisturiser a go as it's pretty good at hydrating the skin!

Where can I purchase this?- At all major pharmacies such as Watsons, Guardian and Caring.

    1. Hi Sabrina! Oh, I used to see Vichy's pro Matt moisturiser around, did not know it was discontinued..=S I personally have not tried HL's moisturising milk, although I do have a moisturising milk from Mandom's Barrier Repair range which leaves the EXACT same sticky feeling as the cream here. I do have a friend who swears by Hada Labo's cream as she says it does not leave her skin sticky- she loves it! To me, I realise that if I use a very, very small amount of the cream, it absorbs pretty fast and sticky feeling goes away after a while. I've swatched the milky one and it does have a lighter texture, though.. I guess you can try the milk and see how it goes for you? =) Do let me know! =D

  3. Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally, produced by your body and is a core building block of skin. It can hold, up to 1000x, its own weight in water! It also, naturally stimulates the production of collagen. Unfortunately, as you age, the amount that your body produces diminishes, significantly. Recently, scientists have discovered, the immense benefits of hyaluronic acid, skin care.

    1. Hi Agnes! I think the lotion would be suitable for you because it really does not leave the skin oily at all, in my opinion. I have combination skin too and it's suited me fine. =) If you do give it a try, I hope it works out for you because it is one of my favourite lotions/toners to date! =D

  5. Hey hi I just purchased habo lado super hyaluronic acid moisturizing lotion from Watson. It only cost me rm6. Is this fake one? Please advise

    1. Hi! Sorry for the late reply! RM6? That is cheap! I am unsure as to whether it is a fake product or not but if it is sold in Watsons I think it should pretty much be an original product. I do not think the price of a product depicts its quality, but if you are worried, I guess it would be safer for you not to use it. =)

  6. I just found out that the one in Malaysia is made in China while in Singapore is made in Japan? Could there be any different in quality based on this or this is just the matter of manufacturing?

    1. Hi! Yep that is correct- the ones in Malaysia are made in China whereas the ones from Singapore are made in Japan. According to the company, the quality of the products are similar but the difference in place of manufacturing is due to the pricing and the cost of the product for customers. You can check out their explanation at this link: https://www.facebook.com/MyHadaLabo/posts/384822701542871

  8. Hiya! It depends where you live. If you live in Malaysia, you can get this in Guardian, Watsons, Caring pharmacy. If you live in Singapore, I think they stock this in Watsons too. If you live elsewhere, maybe try checking your local pharmacy to see if it is stocked? Otherwise, ebay may be your best bet. Hope I helped! =D

  9. Hi, what's that lotion? Is it a toner? Can I use it as a moisturizer?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hi Louisa! The lotion is actually a toner. It's just differently worded because if I am not mistaken that is how the Japanese call their face toners. It is moisturising although I am not sure it would be enough if you just use it alone as a moisturiser, as it is just a toner. Probably better to still use moisturiser on top of it! =D
